Birthday Flowers 4 Cocoa! {Crazy4Cocoa + SSS97}

Time for Cocoa again!!!
The Crazy4Cocoa challenge this week was *Flower Power* ... use flowers!

Instead of reaching for the adorable Cocoa digis WITH flowers, I decided to make a birthday card and ADD my own flowers!! I used this colorful dp from 3 Bugs in a Rug, and made my own paper flowers to add. I also put a spiral flower (my favorite of all the paper flower varieties) in place of his hat tassel!

I also used Sweet Stop Sketch SSS97 to create this card!

Theadore is *poppin up* everywhere! :) {Tuesday Throwdown}

YES! This is the Theadore card that I posted yesterday for the Heart Song Designs new releases for this week!!!!
I am submitting him for the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #37 - POP it out! 3-D. Cute Theadore is all popped out! And though the photo doesn't show it as well, his folded ear has a little extra *pop*, as does his pretty tulip!
I just LOVE this image!!!!!!

New Release Sunday! {Heart Song Designs}

Oh, I am so excited for the privilege to present to you today two more images for Heart Song Designs!

The absolutely adorable Theadore and Tulip

& the beautiful Butterfly & Thisle

These new images from Heart Song Designs were so fun to play with!! Here's what I did ...

I LOVE THEADORE!!! For the Theodore & Tulip digi, I decided to color him in this pretty bright blue shade to go with the cute egg shaped card (purchased from JoAnn's last year). His ears and feet are so cute in pink, and I just LOVED coloring the tulip!! *MAYBE we can expect to see even more tuplips in the Heart Song Designs shop soon!! ;) Wouldn't that be great!

This next card was a fun creative experiment for me.

The thisle digi is so pretty with the butterfly, and I found that I really wanted even more butterflies for this one. I created a "border" on the right side of the paper of butterflies from the Butterfly Duet digi (also from Heart Song Designs). Printed the card, folded in half to have an A2 sized card, then folded the front again to reveal the butterfly border.

Asian Doll with Cherry Blossoms {Heart Song Designs & SCS-F4A53}

I LOVE this beautiful Asian Doll digi from Heart Song Designs and have been wanting to pair it with the Cherry Blossoms Branch (from Heart Song Designs, of course!)


Aren't they adorable together?! :) And I couldn't wait to try this backgound cloud technique that I saw online this week... *WISH I could remember where - maybe SCS somewhere!!! (sorry!)
You can achieve this effect fairly easily by taking a strip of paper longer than your area, gently tearthe edge of the paper a little less than straight, then lightly sponging ink along your torn edge. The next level down, move the strip over a bit so that the pattern differs slightly, then ink again, only leaving just a bit of white area between the levels. Repeat as desired. :)

I added a little bling to a few of the blossoms and to her kimono. I just LOVE working with her!!!!

Cocoa, as usual, is soooo adorable!! Last week's challenge on Crazy4Cocoa was to use purple, yellow and green!
I also went with the SCS Technique challenge to use a Bargello quited technique. :) sweet...

Create Your Own Background = Cuttlebug!! {SCS-CAS107}

I couldn't resist!!! Today's Clean and Simple challenge on Splitcoast Stampers was to create your own background. And since I just got a Cuttlebug this weekend ...... OF COURSE, my background would be embossed!!!

First up, I created a card with Leah's new release digi stamp from yesterday ...

Butterfly Fancy ~

Her pre-colored image is perfect for making a beautifully colored quick card. ;) Check it out, along with all her other beautifully crafted images on Heart Song Designs!

Next, I couldn't wait to use my ClockWorks embossing folder to create this one!!


I pulled out some Graphic 45 dp and die cut *with a clock* :) and used the verse ... Thankful Everytime is the name of this card! FUN! I lightly inked the embossed imprints for accent.

Today, February 20, 2011, is the birthday of one of my precious nieces!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Liliana Marie!!

So, this is a birthday card that I made for her! :)



I was soooo pleased with it!! The image (VNDigital Arts) was perfect for Lili with her long flowing hair!! :) ♥
I colored it with Copics and had such fun adding all the fun, girly patterns and pink elements.
I'm entering it in Stampin Sisters in Christ this week, for using GREEN.

New Release Sunday! {Heart Song Designs}

Welcome to another NEW RELEASE SUNDAY posting of brand new images from Heart Song Designs!!

Aren't these images great?! :) They were SO fun to work with!

Here's what I came up with ...

First, I worked with the Hand Colored Butterfly Fancy ~ This digi is colored to perfection!!

I added a few panels of Anna Griffin DP, solid cardstock, ribbon and pearl buttons from my stash {using this week's Sweet Stop sketch - SSS96}. :) Love this digi! It is perfect for a quick, beautiful card!

Next, I had such fun working with St. Patty's Daydream! I love the sweet little bird resting on the heart-leaf clover! And the cloud was just calling for a quick sentiment. I used bits and pieces of green and such to complete this fun Green card!

Finally, my Blooming Stars ...

I've had this My Mind's Eye DP for a while, and it was perfect for the feel that I wanted for this card. I colored the digi with Copics to match my paper. And the fun star with birthday sentiments was great (purchased at Michael's a while ago - do not remember brand). This digi is so versitle and fun-loving, isn't it? :)

My beautiful nieces are the lovely focus!! This is actually the picture that their wonderful mom sent with the family's Christmas card, and Kaitlin was wearing that pretty red top, which made it the perfect candidate for a red, pink and white layout!!

I was even able to sneak in a Heart Song Designs cupcake digi!! PERFECT with the cupcake ribbon! .... SWEET!



I love these girls!! They are just as precious as they are beautiful!!! ♥

Hot Air Wishes {SCS}

I LOVE this hot air balloon digi stamp from Heart Song Designs!!! I mean REALLY! How can you not??

I am sooo excited!!!!

She already has the 3 wonderful little clouds on this image, but I added a few extra ones cut from my Cricut to add a little dimension to my scene!

2Gether {Sketchy Thursdays}

Time for another Sketchy Thursday layout post!!

This is the sketch that was posted last week ...

I had LOTS of fun with this layout! I have had these fun black & white photos for quite a while now. My mom, my sister and her baby came to visit us in Virginia! What a fun, fun time we had together! It was very memorable also, because it was their first visit to see our home!!
And while they were there, my mom and sister decided that we would do a mini "home-makeover" to a few rooms in my house! :) We painted the living room and the kitchen this beautiful creamy yellow .... the color of my layout!!

So I decided to go "almost monochrome" :), using grey, white, and bits of pale yellow! Not my usual style, but it was fun, and I am very, VERY pleased with the results.

I had this cool key pen that I placed at the corner of one photo of us on the front porch. (Although Stacy was missing here! She must have been the photographer! :( )

This dandelion flower and swirl chipboard piece looked perfect with the crackle paint finish - white top coat, with pale yellow peaking through.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
I have a scrapbook page to post today! :) Though not in the traditional reds and pinks, it is certainly 3 of the most loved people in my life!! My 3 beautiful kids!!! ♥

I used an "old" (1/8/11) sketch from Sketchy Thursdays to complete the layout. I LOVE Sketchy Thursday's sketches!! :)

They secretly did a "photo shoot" with my sister to give my hubby and I photos for Christmas! It was the best gift we could have received!! :) They framed several and gave me the rest so I could SCRAPBOOK THEM!!! YIPPEE!! *I have another layout with these pics to post later this week.

SO SWEET!!!

For the layout I used a bundle of DP, die cuts, labels, etc. from Cosmo Cricket! LOVE this rustic paper!!!! :) The swirls were perfect for the beachy pics! :)

My first card today is using this sweet pair of butterflies, complementing one another in size and design! I decided to trace the lines and dots on my butterfly wings with a glue pen and sprinkle them with glitter.



When adhering my "glitterflies" to the card, I only placed glue on the center "body" of the butterly, to give a little "action" to their wings, lifting off the card, ever so slightly. :)



I really love these!

Now, I saved my fav for last!!



I LOVE Leah's new handcolored Anemone image!!! Isn't it stunning? Wonderful colors and shading!!

For this card, I really wanted a full bouquet. How fun this was!!! The background of the image is already transparent, so I just layered several images, flipping a couple of them :) to obtain this full bouquet look before printing!

Before working with this image, I wasn't too sure I wanted to use the pre-colored images, but now my mind is just brimming with possibilities!!! The coloring is beautifully achieved for you; all you have to do is print and create!! It is STILL hand-crafted, ladies, isn't it? :)

I'm a TOTAL FAN!!! :)

Love Without Words {SSIC75}

WOW!! It's been such a busy week that I almost forgot to post this card for this week's Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge {75} that I made days ago!!!

The challenge was to create a project that showed love "without words"! That was an easy one for me! The cross!!! The ultimate show of love!!! Talk about showing love - there could be none greater!!

I actually made this card with our Pastor and his wife in Virginia, on my heart. :) Not sure if I'll send it soon, or wait for Easter .... "HE HAS RISEN INDEED" comes to mind!! (a favorite quote of our Pastor at the Easter Celebrations!! :) *I love them!* ♥

Here is a card I made with the ADORABLE One of a Kind digi stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy (one of the sets I received as a prize in the Crazy4Cocoa challenge a couple of weeks ago!)! I LOVE THIS SET!!!!! :) It is just so *tweet*, don't you think :)



For this card I flipped today's Sweet Stop sketch. (I also used the sketch in another card that I will post tomorrow).



What is it about the Sweet Stop sketches that is so great? I don't know but I just LOVE working with them. Each week, I print them out!! Provides a WONDERFUL reference for future cards! I plan to make a sketch book sometime soon!! ;)
