FORGIVE {Patter Cross 2010 Scripture Challenge}

Here's another page for Patter Cross's 2010 Scripture Challenge! :) I'm so pleased with it!

This beautiful digi stamp of the Cross is one that I picked for my prize this week from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps! I LOVE it!! and knew I wanted to use it on a page for this scripture challenge. :)

I colored the cross in several shades of brown, then topped it off with a bit of gold ink and embossed it. :)

The creamy satin blooms are a HAPPY find at Michaels! I first found them several years ago. They can be found in a cute little paint can in the wedding isle and are advertised as confetti! At different times of the year they will even offer different colors. There are TONS in the can, so I always feel that I can layer and layer with these! I use them on my fav wedding cake card (post here).

I chose these papers because of the scarlet colors - "Though your sins were scarlet, they shall be white as snow." The dp was from a DCWV Paper Stack that I've had 'forever'. The *scarlet* mulberry paper was just from my stash.

As for the pretty rosette ...

Awww ... This was fun! I am certainly one of those people who sees almost everything! (really - just about everything!) as a craft item! So, I have a large drawer of random ribbon - wide/narrow, wired/not, satin/twill/netting, etc.! Ok, I have more than 1 drawer. Anyway, I've had this ribbon - this pretty, wired burgundy-ish gold colored ribbon, that I have often passed over in search of other colors and textures. Then THIS DAY ... the ribbon found its purpose! I'm so excited! And the color was PERFECT!! So I just twisted and turned until I had the blossom the way I wanted it! Then there was this gold button, with this neat linen-like finish on it. It was perfect with the gold in the ribbon and on the cross! :) YAY!

And the journal paper - again, perfect color, and perfect size for the length of this wonderful verse that I wanted to use here!

Romans 5:6-10

This verse is one of my dear husband's favorites! He is a man that it so passionate about the cross of Christ!! He has felt a calling to the ministry for sometime now, and just last year was able to begin "formal" training at Liberty University for his degree in Theology! He is such an encouragement and inspiration to me, not to mention my very best friend! We are sneaking up on 21 years, and it's only getting better! (E-vidence of G-od's G-race ... an EGG, for sure :)

This verse is such a wonderful depiction of the love, forgiveness and mercy of God, in that "while we were yet SINNERS, Christ died for us - the ungodly!" He does not wait until we have made our way to Him in our righteous deeds or good behavior - as if we ever could. Through Christ alone we have been justified, reconciled, saved and forgiven. By His work alone!

It is finished!
