Patter Cross Scripture Challenge #1: Hope

I am determined to catch up with this challenge! :)

Here is my 7x9 page for challenge #1 ... HOPE!

"YET, THIS I call to mind, AND THEREFORE, I HAVE HOPE . . . "

The author of Lamentations hid no emotion from the Lord as he saw the devastation of Jerusalem. When reading these passages, you can feel his pain and distress. He "pours out his heart like water" before the Lord. Yet, he states here that he has HOPE ... how? By "calling to mind" the true nature of His God!

"Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning, GREAT IS YOUR FAITHFULNESS!" (Lamentations 3:21-23)

Seasons of hardship will come. We will, at times, experience suffering, pain, loss, discouragement. During these season, these dark valleys, we can still experience HOPE - by speaking truth to ourselves. Not "listening" and "looking" around us at all that may concern us, but recounting the faithful compassion and love of our God!

May you have HOPE today, in the midst of whatever you face. God is able!

After my original post of this layout, I decided to use a 8.5x11" spiral-bound scrapbook that has "laid in waiting" for years! I will do all the layouts in a landscape format. The notebook style scrapbook stands beautifully for display! :) YEAH!
So here is the HOPE layout in the old/new spiral book . . . (had to disassemble just a bit to make it fit and look nice). I really like how it turned out!

I will decorate the cover soon and post a photo of it when complete.

:) Happy crafting!
