:) Again one of my projects was featured on Scrapbook-Crazy.com.
I was inspired by one of their projects (Paper Bag Calendar)and changed a few things to create the 2010 Desk Calendar class for SCRAP THAT!
We'll be having our second of three classes this Saturday (see calendar for times).
Quite a few people have asked me about Project KITS for the calendar. YES, I will be selling the kits. If your interested, please contact me at goldensentiments@gmail.com.
Happy crafting!

Happy Birthday, Lili!
I'm so excited!
I just finished my little niece's THIRD birthday present!
I made her a "scrap-scrap" book ;) of her "FAMILIA" using 8.5x11" cardboard/chipboard that I saved from various paper packs and "what-not".
I covered the pages with papers and embellished them with covered or painted chipboard letters and shapes, photos, ribbons, etc. I finished of the edges with acrylic paint and set eyelets for the ribbon at the top to bind it.
:) Can't wait to give it to her! Hope you enjoy the photos!
*I re-purposed a clear plastic container (from a file folder set) for the package.
Happy Birthday, sweet Lili! You're a princess!

Yesterday's SCRAP THAT class
These are the Stamp-Embossed cards that we made in class yesterday at SCRAP THAT.
We used only 4 of the beautiful My Minds Eye patterned cards from a box set of 50 cards and envelopes! GREAT quality cards, at a FABULOUS price . . . a fraction of the price at the big retail chains!!! :) Hop in a grab a box before they're gone!!!
There are 10 different designs in the box, so we're going to have another class next month to work on 4 more!
Can't wait!

Patter Cross Scripture Challenge #1: Hope
I am determined to catch up with this challenge! :)
Here is my 7x9 page for challenge #1 ... HOPE!
"YET, THIS I call to mind, AND THEREFORE, I HAVE HOPE . . . "
The author of Lamentations hid no emotion from the Lord as he saw the devastation of Jerusalem. When reading these passages, you can feel his pain and distress. He "pours out his heart like water" before the Lord. Yet, he states here that he has HOPE ... how? By "calling to mind" the true nature of His God!
"Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning, GREAT IS YOUR FAITHFULNESS!" (Lamentations 3:21-23)
Seasons of hardship will come. We will, at times, experience suffering, pain, loss, discouragement. During these season, these dark valleys, we can still experience HOPE - by speaking truth to ourselves. Not "listening" and "looking" around us at all that may concern us, but recounting the faithful compassion and love of our God!
May you have HOPE today, in the midst of whatever you face. God is able!
*********************************************************
After my original post of this layout, I decided to use a 8.5x11" spiral-bound scrapbook that has "laid in waiting" for years! I will do all the layouts in a landscape format. The notebook style scrapbook stands beautifully for display! :) YEAH!
So here is the HOPE layout in the old/new spiral book . . . (had to disassemble just a bit to make it fit and look nice). I really like how it turned out!
I will decorate the cover soon and post a photo of it when complete.

Happy (almost) Valentine's Day!
Just thought I'd share some ♥ wishes with you.
These are some pop-up cards that we worked on in class last weekend!
"U hold the keys to my ♥"
A special Delivery "For you"...
A dozen Roses!
Have a wonderful ♥ Day!
"Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the Lord, who has compassion on you. ~Isaiah 54:10
Blessings to you,
~Vanessa

Family: Precious
Hello, all!
Page Maps is doing another contest, so here's my entry!
I was so excited to FINALLY use this family photo! It was the Easter of 1996, taken on our annual trip to my grandparents' house in Baker, Louisiana. Our kids were so young ... and SO WERE WE!! WOW! :) How did we do it? ...
"So young! 3 precious babies ... Our family ... God's Amazing Grace!"
That's how we did it ... and that's still how we do it - parenting 3teenagers in 2010 ... GOD'S GRACE!! :) Thank you, Lord!
**For this 12x12 paper layout, I used:
Cosmo Cricket: Honey Pie - cardstock and die cuts
Wild Asparagus - flowers and die cut
Heidi Grace - rub-ons
--and a little bit of yellow eyelet lace from my daughter's old babydoll's dress. ;)
Thanks, Page Maps, for the "umph" to get this photo scrapped! :)
Hey, try a Page Map yourself, and show us what you've done!
Blessings,
~Vanessa

I'm sure there are MORE than "10 Reasons I Adore You!"
Just wanted to share this cool mini-book that we made in class a couple of weeks ago. I adapted a plan that I found on Scrapbook-Crazy.com, this really great website resource for some cool projects!
The book opens to reveal mini-pages, complete with chipboard numbers, where you can list the reasons for your adoration of your loved one!
We had much fun with this!

Happy February!
Here is a "sneak peak" at the 2010 Desk Calendar that we will begin crafting in our class this Saturday afternoon at SCRAP THAT.
If you'd like more information on this or any other class, please contact me at goldensentiments@gmail.com, or you may visit the Current Projects page of the shop's website. Space is limited, so class seats must be reserved.
:) Have a great day!
